Hugh is a Trinity computer science graduate with a masters in Computer Security and Forensics. He is currently systems engineer at eQualit.ie. eQualit.ie provides digital security and information management expertise to organised civil society and independent media organisations.
Here is his introduction:
"Despite its condemnation in public discourse, internet censorship and filtration are increasingly common detriments to access to information. While censorship within politically closed nations is generally more drastic and overarching, the gradual introduction of internet filtration and blacklisting poses a threat to more traditionally liberal societies. This talk will give an introduction to the general concepts of surveillance and the ways in which it is implemented around the world."
